No. You, a family member, carer or care home staff can request a home visit from us.

Typically every 12 months, unless the optometrist or doctor advises more frequent checks.

Most of the standard components (vision, refraction, internal eye health, pressure, peripheral field) will be done. In some cases, limitations (space, cooperation) may require adaptations.

If a new prescription is needed, we can bring a selection of frames / lenses, or arrange for you to select them and deliver, fit and adjust them at your home.

If eye disease or serious pathology is detected, we will refer to hospital eye services or an ophthalmologist, and communicate with your GP.

If your circumstances have changed (e.g. mobility, health), we can assess whether a nearer visit is clinically justified. However, routine home visits are generally reserved for those unable to attend a practice unaccompanied.

Usually within 10-12 working days  after the order is placed, but times may vary depending on lens type, coatings or special features.

The exam is non-invasive and painless. Some people find the pressure test (if done) or dilation drops slightly uncomfortable. The optometrist will explain and adjust to your tolerance.

We can come to care homes too. If multiple residents require visits, we may schedule by batch, though each visit is individual and private.

Yes — we follow current health guidelines, including use of PPE, sterilisation of equipment, and pre-visit health screening.

Let us know as soon as possible. We will rearrange delivery to your new address.
